Lorie Muller – Director (Founding Member)
Mom to Reid (14) & Elise (10). Paramedic 16 years. Wife to Eric Muller (high school sweethearts 20 years) and Founder/President of Athletes In Kind since 2005.
I grew up in Maple Ridge and now reside in Pitt Meadows since 1996. I have been active in organized sports for as long as I can remember with the last 14 years as a Triathlete competing in over 40 races of all distances including 3 Ironman triathlons and an Ultra Marathon. I have worked as a Lifeguard/swimming instructor/first aid-CPR instructor at the Leisure Center from 1985-2000, a dental assistant 1989-93, and hope to retire my full time Paramedic career at the age of 47 and help in my husband’s new business endeavors in the near future.
Athletes In Kind was founded in 2005, became a not for profit Charitable Society in 2007 and has been an active part of this community running all kinds of athletic and non-athletic events to help raise funds for families struggling financially because of childhood Cancer. We are actively pursuing registered charity status and hope for that designation by this time next year.
Life in Pitt Meadows is dear to me; it has everything to offer families, small business owners and entrepreneurs alike. It has that small town feel that makes you want to stay and play, raise a family, run a business close to home or just visit our spectacular playground of mountains, parks, rivers & lakes. It is of upmost importance to me that small businesses succeed in our community, keeping our small town feel with a healthy living environment.
Anahi English – Treasurer (Founding Member)
Anahi was born in Lima, Peru and moved to Canada with her family in 1989. In early 2010 she made the move to Pitt Meadows with husband Dylan and their 3 year old daughter. Moving to Pitt Meadows was an easy decision as Dylan and Anahi loved the overwhelming community feel. It was and is the perfect place to raise their daughter and future kids.
Anahi and Dylan opened Stomping Grounds Coffee House on April 2010 with a little inspiration from Anahi's home, Peru. Stomping Grounds was created to provide a cozy gathering place for the local community. The company slogan is "Community Inspired". Stomping Grounds is not only a reflection of Anahi's old "Stomping Grounds" but also a reflection of our wonderful community.
Prior to opening Stomping Grounds, Anahi worked for Vancity Credit Union for over 8 years. At Vancity she worked as a personal financial officer, personal lender and her last role as Microfinance Program Manager in the Community Investment department. As Microfinance Manager, Anahi reviewed and recommended start up loans and provided overall support for the large and small business portfolio.
Community engagement has always been one of Anahi's passions. Being part of Pitt Meadows Community Association is truly an honour and she looks forward to helping keep Pitt Meadows one of the greatest places to live.
